Positive competitive bid outcomes, coupled with the Village’s strong and sound financial position, will make the following possible:
-Sidewalk repair work will be increased by over 13% from last summer, growing from 8,800 square feet to 10,000 square feet. 350 lineal feet of curbs and gutters will also be repaired.-Approximately 60,000 lineal feet of roadway cracks will be routed and sealed to help extend the life of existing asphalt pavement on 195th Street from Townline Road west, Regan Road, and Townline Road from 195th Street to Blackthorne Ridge. Streets from Mokena’s 2010 street maintenance program will also be routed and sealed.-Another 3,040 square yards of asphalt streets will be patched.-An estimated 640 square yards of Wolf Road’s concrete pavement will also be patched.-7 miles of road will be resurfaced, up 40% from last year’s 5 miles and exceeding Mokena’s annual goal of 4 miles for the third consecutive summer.
Maintenance activities are expected to begin moving forward later this month. For a comprehensive list of streets that are part of the program, and for a map of the construction areas, please click the link below.
