Construction Updates
PCC Pavement Patching Program

Beginning the week of September 26th, work will begin on the PCC Pavement Patching program, which includes routine maintenance to repair open cracks in the pavement and adjacent to manholes located within the pavement structure.

This concrete pavement patching will occur at various locations on Wolf Road between 187th Street and U.S. Route 30, and on 191st Street, west of LaGrange Road.

Two-way traffic control will be maintained, but intermittent lane closures are expected.  Please watch for signs and flaggers, and maintain a lower speed through construction zones.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (708) 479-3900.  We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to improve your Mokena streets.

Intermittent Lane Closures on LaPorte Road

On Monday, September 26th, please expect intermittent lane closures on LaPorte Road between Schoolhouse Road and Mokena Street, as the new Mokena Community Park District development on LaPorte Road connects to the sanitary sewer system.  The center median will remain closed all day, while the eastbound and westbound lanes will be intermittently closed.  Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.  Please maintain lower speeds through this construction zone.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (708) 479-3900.  We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to improve Mokena’s amenities.

Francis Road Railroad Crossing to be closed for repairs

Repairs to the Francis Road Metra railroad crossing, west of Marley Road, will be getting underway soon.  Beginning Wednesday, September 28th, Francis Road will be CLOSED to all through traffic at the railroad crossing located between Marley Road and Parker Road in New Lenox. Metra anticipates the improvements will take ten days to complete, and Francis Road will re-open to traffic on Friday, October 7th.

All residences will remain accessible through the construction, and local traffic only will be permitted in the vicinity of the crossing.  At no time will motorists be able to cross the tracks during the closure.  Please follow the posted detour route.

We apologize for any inconvenience this construction project may cause while Metra implements these improvements to the railroad crossing.  If you have any questions, please contact us at (708) 479-3900.
