Utility Billing Electronic Notification Now Available
Posted on Thursday March 29, 2018
If you prefer doing business digitally, we’ve got good news for you.

The option of having an e-mail notice sent when your monthly Village utility invoice is ready for viewing is now available.  To take advantage of this option, simply follow the steps below:

  • Click the “Utility Bill Payment” button located on the left side of our home page at www.mokena.org.
  • Log in to your account (if you have not previously requested access to your account, you will need to do so first).
  • Click the “e-billing” tab.
  • Check the box next to your utility account number to activate the notification process.
  • Click “Finished”.

As a caution, keep in mind that it will be your responsibility to contact us should your e-mail address change for any reason.  Electronic notification is an “either/or” choice, so should you choose to utilize this new option, the standard paper invoice sent to you previously via U.S. Mail will no longer be sent.  That’s why it’s essential that you remain vigilant and keep your e-mail address current.

Let’s say you opt into electronic notification, but later decide you want to return to receiving your monthly invoice in paper form.  Simply log in to your account and uncheck the box next to your utility account number to deactivate it.

Are you happy with the standard paper delivery of your invoice you’re accustomed to?  If so, there’s nothing you need to do.  You will continue to receive your invoice via U.S. Mail at the beginning of the month as you always have.

Finally, please be advised that should you choose electronic notification, you will no longer receive our monthly "NEWS You Can Use" newsletter in the U.S. Mail.  However, you can still access that publication digitally at www.mokena.org.
