New Mass Notification System Launched
Posted on Friday March 01, 2019
For those of you wanting to be alerted to breaking developments around Mokena that could impact you, your opportunity has arrived.

The Mokena Village Board recently approved a memorandum of agreement with the Will County Emergency Telephone System Board allowing the Village to utilize its Everbridge mass notification system for the rapid delivery of messages to Mokena residents via text, e-mail, fax, and voice.

Among other things, the new system allows for targeted notifications to be delivered to specific areas of the community where (for example) water main breaks have occurred or focused criminal activity has been identified.

Anyone interested in receiving notifications can sign up for free by clicking on the “Community Alerts” button on the Village of Mokena’s website (, creating an account, and selecting their preferred method(s) of message delivery.

Affirmative sign-up is required to receive notifications.  Notifications will not be received without sign-up.

Individuals can opt to receive messages through any one or more of the various delivery methods available (text, e-mail, fax, voice).

With a focus on items of immediate relevance to the subscriber, the new notification system is positioned as a supplement to the Village’s existing digital newsletter, Mokena e-News.  E-News will continue to provide regular content on Village Board actions and other community information as it has in the past.
